Frequently asked questions
Straight answers before and after purchase.
Compatibility, delivery, licensing, choosing an edition, and the limits of an estimating workbook.
Choosing an editionWhich EstimatePro edition should I buy?
Choose the edition that most closely matches the work you price most often. Every edition uses the same cost-and-margin framework, while its labor catalog, direct-cost catalog, scope fields, sample job, and safeguards are adapted to that trade. If your work spans several trades, start with the edition that represents your primary revenue stream.
Using EstimateProCan I replace the sample labor rates and material costs?
Yes. Sample values demonstrate the workflow and must be replaced with your own wages, labor burden, production history, supplier quotes, overhead, tax treatment, and target margins before commercial use.
Choosing an editionWhat if the workflow I need is not in the catalog?
Use the website-exclusive Custom Product Builder at opsforge.llc/custom. Choose the workflow type, project size, platforms, capabilities, revision level, and turnaround to receive an immediate planning estimate and prepare a project brief for OpsForge review.
Choosing an editionIs the Custom Product Builder price a final quote?
No. The calculator provides a non-binding planning estimate. OpsForge confirms the requirements, deliverables, final price, and delivery target in writing before a custom project begins. Complex source data, external integrations, or requirements outside the selected options can change the final price.
Choosing an editionHow are custom projects paid?
After scope review, OpsForge provides a fixed-price agreement. Unless the agreement says otherwise, projects below $500 are paid in full before work starts. Projects of $500 or more use a 50% commencement payment, with the remaining 50% due after acceptance and before final editable delivery. Applicable taxes are additional.
Using EstimateProWhat data can I share for a custom project?
Start with fictional, de-identified, or minimized data. Do not send credentials, API secrets, complete payment-card information, Social Security numbers, health information, information about children, or sensitive client or employee records. If real sensitive information is genuinely necessary, wait for OpsForge to approve the need and transfer method in writing.
Quality and updatesHow are revisions and acceptance handled on a custom project?
The signed scope lists objective acceptance criteria and the number of included revision rounds. Each round is one consolidated written feedback package. The client receives five business days to approve a draft or identify a material failure against the agreed criteria. New features or changed requirements use a written change order. Final delivery includes a 30-day correction window for reproducible failures to meet the signed scope.
CompatibilityWhat software do I need?
Every purchase includes the original Excel edition plus Google Sheets-ready and Apple Numbers-ready .xlsx editions with in-workbook import guidance. A current desktop version of Microsoft Excel on Windows or Mac provides the intended full-fidelity experience. After import, Google Sheets or Apple Numbers can alter protection, validation, chart styling, conditional formatting, or print layouts, so review those elements before relying on the converted file.
CompatibilityDo the workbooks contain macros or VBA?
No. All three editions are macro-free and use transparent spreadsheet formulas. The Excel edition preserves the original named ranges, validation, charts, protection, and print settings; imported Google Sheets and Apple Numbers editions can vary in those presentation and control features.
Quality and updatesWhat does Formula-audited mean on a product page?
It means the released workbook was opened for structural inspection, the populated model was scanned for visible spreadsheet errors, and representative outputs were reviewed during release authoring. It does not mean OpsForge has validated your future inputs, local costs, field conditions, scope, or professional judgment. Every product page links to its current QA record.
Quality and updatesWhat happens if an OpsForge file has a confirmed defect?
OpsForge will correct a confirmed file defect or provide a replacement at no additional charge. OpsForge targets an initial human response within two business days and a workaround or correction within five business days for a reproducible blocking defect. These are operating targets, not guaranteed service-level agreements.
Quality and updatesAre product updates included?
Confirmed file defects and maintenance corrections are provided without an additional charge and documented in the product version history. Major redesigns, new integrations, and newly commissioned features may be separate paid releases unless the product page states otherwise.
Purchases and downloadsIs this a subscription?
No. Each edition is a one-time digital purchase. OpsForge does not require an account or charge a recurring software subscription for the workbook.
Purchases and downloadsHow are the files delivered?
After a completed payment is verified, the order confirmation page provides a protected download containing the Excel, Google Sheets-ready, and Apple Numbers-ready editions plus the illustrated PDF guide. Keep your receipt and downloaded backups in a secure business location.
Purchases and downloadsWhat if my download link expires or I lose the files?
Use the secure Order Recovery page with the purchasing email address. If an eligible paid order is found, OpsForge sends a one-time replacement link only to that inbox. If the email does not arrive, contact OpsForge Support with the edition name and approximate order date. Never send full payment-card details.
Purchases and downloadsWhat is the refund policy?
All sales are final once any file from an order has been downloaded. Before downloading, contact OpsForge immediately about a wrong edition. OpsForge corrects verified duplicate charges and addresses missing or corrupted delivery, but a technical or compatibility problem after download does not create a refund right unless applicable law requires one. See the Refund Policy for the complete process.
LicensingWhat does the business license allow?
The purchasing business may customize the workbook and use it internally for unlimited estimates and proposals. The source workbook and guide may not be resold, shared outside the purchasing business, sublicensed, published, or repackaged as another product.
LicensingCan multiple employees use the workbook?
Yes, employees and contractors working for the purchasing business may use it for that business's internal estimating workflow. The files may not be transferred to an unrelated company or client for reuse.
Using EstimateProDoes EstimatePro replace estimating or trade expertise?
No. EstimatePro organizes assumptions and pricing scenarios. The user remains responsible for field conditions, quantities, supplier pricing, labor productivity, licensing, codes, permits, taxes, contracts, safety requirements, and professional judgment.
Using EstimateProWhat can OpsForge Support help with?
